The Fire Baptism and the Lost Sacraments (2006)

Watch Here:

"The Fire Baptism and the Lost Sacraments"

Film Documentary, "The Fire Baptism and the Lost Sacraments". The film traces the history and transformation of the Baptism through early Christian writings. This film traces the use of the anointing oil as described in Exodus 30:23  and makes the link to  this oil anointing within early Christianity as part of the Fire Baptism of Jesus Christ.  The Holy anointing oil contains 6 pounds of cannabis and is illegal to manufacture today!!!!

Shocking!!!   A Must See!!!

This Shocking New Film Documentary brings together the worlds foremost researchers on Cannabis in the Holy Anointing Oil as described in Exodus 30:23.  The term Calamus was mistranslated in the earliest Greek Bible the Septuagint.  The Hebrew in this case is Kaneh Bosem. The shocking outline of the film is available below.

"The Fire Baptism and the Lost Sacraments"

The Mystery Teachings

I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose; he shall Baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with Fire. Luke 3:16
What was the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and Fire, as described by John the Baptist? There are numerous references to Baptism in the New Testament, however it is relatively silent on the subject, and has no full descriptions of it.
Most churches today offer a sprinkle water baptism to babies. Can this be the Fire Baptism discussed by John the Baptist? What happened to the Fire Baptism? Is there any Church offering the Fire Baptism today?
In the first and second centuries AD, various Christian groups claimed that they possessed a secret knowledge or Gnosis of the Kingdom of God, given by Jesus after his resurrection.
The Book of Acts tells us that after his resurrection, Jesus appeared for forty days speaking of things pertaining to the kingdom of God. However the Bible is silent on what these teachings were.
Jesus also gives us some clues that a secret knowledge would in fact be given.

Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but unto them that are without, all things are done in parables. Mark 4:11

And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. Matthew 13:10-11
But what were the mysteries of the Kingdom of God?
Saint Clement, Bishop of Alexandria, between 150-200 AD, alluded to a "Secret Gnosis" or Knowledge. He considered this Gnosis to have been given by Jesus, after his resurrection, to James the Just, John, and Peter. This Gnosis was later given to the other apostles and to the seventy disciples, of which Barnabas was one. See Eusebius (History 2.1),
Saint Clement suggests that this Gnosis or (Secret Teaching of Jesus ) was given in a form of a mystery, and that certain purifications and previous instructions were given before the mysteries were revealed.
In 1945 a letter from Clement of Alexandria to Theodore was discovered. In this letter Clement alludes to a now extinct "Secret Gospel of Mark". This gospel, was held at the Church of Alexandria, where it was most carefully guarded, being only read by those being initiated into the "Great Mysteries"
In the late fourth Century, Saint Cyril, Bishop of Jerusalem, wrote a series of lectures for the newly baptized. The last 5 of these are called the "Lectures on the Mysteries" These lectures describe the Mystery of Baptism.
The initiate was instructed to face to the West, and to renounce Satan, All of his works, and All of his pomp. He would then face to the East, and declare his belief in the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Cyril then describes the entering into the inner chamber or bridal chamber.

As soon as ye entered, ye put off your tunic; and this was an image of putting off the old man with his deeds. Having stripped yourselves, ye were naked; in this also imitating Christ, who was stripped naked on the cross. Then when ye were stripped, ye were anointed with exorcized oil, from the hairs of your head unto your feet. Cyril of Jerusalem

Cyril then describes a triple immersion water Baptism, symbolizing the 3 day burial of Jesus. Then another anointing takes place. The oil is applied to the forehead, ears, nostrils, and breast. Finally the initiate was clothed in a white linen garment, or Robe of Light, which represented the being clothed in Jesus.
In about 387 AD, Saint Ambrose, Bishop of Milan, wrote "On The Mysteries". Again this was set forth to benefit those who were about to be baptized, the rites and meaning of that sacrament, as well as the sacraments of confirmation, and Holy Eucharist. Saint Ambrose states clearly in this, that the Baptism Mystery was handed down to us by Peter and Paul.
Look upon the merits of Peter also, or of Paul, who handed down to us this Mystery, which they had received of the Lord Jesus.
Saint Ambrose, "On the Mysteries"
First is given instructions on holy living. Next is given the Mystery of the Opening.
Open then your ears, inhale the good savour of eternal life which has been breathed upon you by the grace of the sacraments; which was signified to you by us, when celebrating the Mystery of the Opening, we say, "Be Opened".
Saint Ambrose, "On the Mysteries"
After this the "Holy of Holies" was opened, and you entered the sanctuary of regeneration. You renounced Satan and all of his works, the world and its luxury and pleasures. Then you turn to the East; for he who renounces the Devil turns to Christ, and beholds him face to face. Interestingly in Revelations, 22:16 Jesus refers to himself as the "Morning Star"
Next the person enters the water, remembering that they believed in the Father, in the Son, in the Holy Spirit, and that they believed in the cross of the Lord Jesus. Upon coming out of the water, the person is sealed or anointed with Holy Oil.
Consider now why this is done, for the eyes of a wise man are in his head; therefore the ointment flows down to the beard, that is to say, to the beauty of youth; and therefore, Aaron's beard, that we too may become a chosen race, priestly and precious, for we are all anointed with spiritual grace for a share in the kingdom of God and in the priesthood.
"Saint Ambrose, "On the Mysteries"
Notice that Saint Ambrose clearly refers to the ointment which flowed down Aaron's Beard. Aaron was anointed in the Old Testament with the Holy Anointing Oil of God described in Exodus 30:23
Next Saint Ambrose describes the Washing of the Feet, which he calls, the Mystery of Humility.

For our Lord Jesus Christ in the Gospel washed the feet of his disciples. When he came to Simon Peter, Peter said, "Thou shalt never wash my feet. " And the Lord answered him: "If I wash not thy feet, thou wilt have no part with me." Peter, hearing this, replies: "Lord, not only my feet, but also my hands and my head." And the Lord replied: "He that is washed needeth not, save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit." Peter was clean, but he must wash his feet, for he had sin by succession from the first man. His feet were washed therefore, that hereditary sins might be done away, for our own sins are remitted through baptism. Saint Ambrose, "On the Mysteries"

Then Saint Ambrose describes the White Robes given to the newly baptized as a sign that they had put off the covering of sin, and the putting on of the veil of innocence. And finally is described, the Mystical Feast of the Altar, or the Eucharist, where the person partakes of the Flesh and Blood of Jesus.
He who shall not eat my flesh and drink my blood has not life in him Jn 6:53
Saint Tertullian of Carthage, one of the early church Fathers, around 200 AD wrote a treaty on Baptism. Here he clearly states that this practice of anointing is derived from the "Old Discipline", or with use of the Holy Anointing Oil as described in the Old Testament.

After the water Baptism, we are thoroughly anointed with a blessed Unction or (anointing), a practice derived from the old discipline, wherein on entering the priesthood, then we were wont to be anointed with oil from a horn, ever since Aaron was anointed by Moses, whence Aaron was called Christ. Tertullian "On Baptism"

In 1896, GRS Mead published, "The Pistis Sophia". This is a translation of the Askew Codex. This Codex was purchased by the British Museum in 1795, from the heirs of the late Dr. Askew. It is rumored that Dr. Askew purchased this text from an antique book store, however the rest of its history is unknown.
The Askew Codex is a 300 AD Coptic translations of earlier Greek texts. GRS Mead suggests that the authors of this text had the 4 synoptic Gospels as well as the Q Document. The Q is a lost Gospel that the original authors of the synoptic Gospels quoted from.
The Askew Codex, better known as the Pistis Sophia, is a record of Jesus, teaching the "Mysteries of the Kingdom of God". Among the highest of the mysteries were the Mysteries of Baptism.
For this cause, therefore, hath John the Baptizer prophesied concerning me, saying : " I indeed have baptized you with water unto repentance for forgiveness of sins. He who cometh after me, is stronger than me. Whose fan is in his hand, and he will purify his floor. The chaff indeed he will consume with unquenchable fire, but the wheat he will gather into the barn" The Power in John hath prophesied concerning me, knowing that I would bring the mysteries and purify the sins of the sinners who shall have faith in me and hearken unto me, and make them into refined light. Jesus, the Pistis Sophia
Preach ye to the whole Human Race, saying, ‘Cease not to seek day and night, until ye have found the purifying mysteries.
Jesus, the Pistis Sophia
The Askew Codex or the Pistis Sophia, states that this took place in the twelfth year after the resurrection on the Mount of Olives. Jesus promises to tell them everything without parables.

The Master, now the glorified Christ, bids them rejoice, for now he will tell them all things from the beginning of the truth to the end there of, face to face, and without parable. The Pistis Sophia

Many mystery teachings are given including that, John the Baptist was the soul of Elias; The Mystery of Repentance is given in a beautiful tractate about the Sophia, who according to this codex, was one of the Four and Twenty. The Sophia had fallen from the Light, but by her faith, or "Pistis" she sang praises to the light and prayed numerous repentances and is eventually restored to the Light.
The Baptism Mystery is declared by Jesus, to be among the highest mysteries. But this was not a baby baptism. This was a Confirmation Baptism, after receiving instructions on the mysteries, and giving repentance. The initiate was to renounce the whole world and all its cares.
They are to renounce mourning, superstition, spells, slander, false witness, boasting and pride, gluttony, garrulity, evil caresses, desire of avarice, love of the world, robbery, evil words, wickedness, pitilessness, wrath, reviling, pillage, slandering, quarreling, ignorance, villainy, sloth, adultery, murder, hardness of heart, impiety, atheism, magic potions, blasphemy, and doctrines of error. Jesus, The Pistis Sophia
The Baptism gave you forgiveness of all past sins, known or unknown. Upon Death, if you remain without sin, you become a light stream exceedingly bright, and your soul travels to the highest heaven, the Treasury of Light. Those who receive this Baptism and remain without sin, have the power after death, to explore all the heavens without restriction. This soul can travel from one side of the Universe to the other, in the time it takes to shoot an arrow.
The question then arises as to what to do about those who repent and receive the baptism mysteries, and then fall back. Should they again remit this persons sins, and baptize again?
The Saviour answered and said; "Remit ye his sin not only seven times, but Amen I say unto you, remit ye it unto many times seven times, and each time give ye him the mysteries from the beginning, so that he may inherit the Kingdom of Light. Jesus, The Pistis Sophia

Baby Baptism

Interestingly, most Churches today only give the baptism once in a lifetime, to babies, who cannot make repentance, reject Satan, accept Jesus, or even understand the gospels.
This once in a lifetime policy was originally given under the tenth article of the Nicene Creed in 381 AD. The creed pronounces: " I confess ONE baptism for the remission of sins". Supposedly the baptism if done correctly, just like a physical birth, cannot be repeated. The mystery of this baptism, must be restored through repentance, confession, and the partaking of the Holy Eucharist. This creed is based on Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism.

The basis for baby baptism by the early Catholic Church has its beginnings in the words of Jesus:
"Let the little Children come to me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven" Matthew 19:14

The other basis for baby baptism was the concept of original sin. Infant mortality was high in the ancient world. Baby baptism was establish early on because they believed that the baby must be baptized to be saved.
There are numerous examples of infant Baptism among the writings of the early church fathers. It has also been suggested that Saint Polycarp was baptized as a baby by the Apostle John. Polycarp was the Bishop of Smyrna, which was one of the two acceptable churches mentioned in Revelations.
Certainly the teachings of many of the early Church Fathers all demanded baby baptism. Baby baptism was established by the early church at the Council of Carthage in 254 AD. The 66 bishops in attendance had a consensus that babies should be baptized. The Catholic Church has defended the practice of baby baptism, throughout the centuries.
But some argue that the baby baptism is an invalid baptism. Some argue that before you can be baptized, you must be taught the Gospel, you must repent of Sin and Satan, and you must confess your faith to Jesus Christ. They base their belief on a passage of Jesus Christ from Mark.
He that believeth and are baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned. . Jesus Mark 16:16-18
Based on this passage it would certainly seem that belief must come before baptism, or a part of it. How can a baby baptism be valid then, in as much as a baby, has no ability to believe? Also if we are only baptized once in a lifetime as babies, are we really baptized at all?
The early Church had an answer to this problem. There was a second baptism which could be used instead of Fontal Bathing, or to restore the mystery of baptism for those who sinned after the baptism. There are only a few references to it among the writings of the early church fathers and no full descriptions of it and even the descriptions we find have slight variations in them.

The Sprinkling of Blood ( The Redemption? )

Saint Tertullian of Carthage 160-225 AD called this the "Second Baptism."
We have indeed, a second font of blood , to wit; concerning which the Lord said, "I have a baptism to be baptized," when he had been baptized already.
For he had come "by means of water and blood, just as John had written; that he be baptized by water, glorified by blood; to make us in like manner, called by water, chosen by blood.
These two baptisms He sent out from the wound in his pierced side, in order that they who believed in his blood might be bathed with the water; they who had bathed in the water might likewise drink the blood. This was the baptism which stands in lieu of the fontal bathing when that has not been received , and restores it when lost. Tertullian on Baptism
Saint Clement of Rome was an actual disciple of Peter and Paul. In his 1st Epistle he mentions the sprinkling of Hyssop; Thou shall sprinkle me with Hyssop and I shall be Clean. Thou shall wash me , and I will be whiter than snow.

In the 9th and the 10th Chapter of Hebrews, we find Saint Paul teaching about what appears to be a description of this cleansing ritual. Paul begins by describing the cleansing rituals in the Hebrew Temple and the sprinkling of lambs blood. He goes on to explain that now, the Blood of Jesus is all that is needed. The cleansing with animal blood is done away with. Then in Hebrews 10-22 he writes:
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
In the New Testament apocrypha, Epistle of Barnabas, we find this description of the sprinkling of blood. For to this end the lord endured to deliver up his flesh to corruption, that we might be sanctified through the remission of sins, which is effected by his blood of sprinkling.

In First Peter 1:2 we find this regarding the sprinkling of blood.
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and the sprinkling of the Blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
Cyril of Jerusalem, in lecture 3 on baptism writes this:
Rejoice, ye heavens, and let the earth be glad, for those who are to be sprinkled with hyssop, and cleansed with the spiritual hyssop, the power of him to whom at his passion, drink was offered on hyssop and a reed. And while the heavenly powers rejoice, let the souls that are to be united to the spiritual bridegroom make themselves ready.

Sadly this restorative second Baptism, the Sprinkle of blood with hyssop was done away with in the early church, in its efforts to enforce a once in a lifetime policy of Baptism, in the Nicene Creed in 381 AD . One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism. Ephesians 4:5
But the removal of this second baptism was also largely based on the writings of Saint Irenaeus and Hippolytus the first Anti Pope and Saint. Irenaeus wrote a series of lectures on the heresies of the competing Pagans and Gnostic Christians, and declared persons such as Plato and Aristotle heretics.
Later Hippolytus wrote a series of lectures regarding teachings of the Gnostic Christians and other religious groups, of that time. Between 210-220 AD Hippolytus wrote 10 books called the "Refutation of all Heresies". Note that these books were written a full 150 years before the Nicene Creed. In these books Hippolytus, declares dozens of Gnostic and other Christian groups, as heretics, including the 15th and 16th Popes of Rome. Any group which did not agree with Hippolytus was labeled a heretic.

In 217 AD, Saint Callixtus was voted in as Pope in Rome. At that time Hippolytus rejected the Catholic Church and established his own church, and set himself up as the true Pope of Rome. Jealous that he was not made Pope, he caused a schism in Rome and thus became the first Anti-Pope in History. He was later redeemed to the church and was martyred, making himself the First Anti-Pope and Saint.

Interestingly Hippolytus, considered the second baptism, to be a heresy.
And subsequent to the first baptism, to these they promise another, which they call Redemption. And by this (Other Baptism) they wickedly subvert those that remain with them, in expectation of redemption, as if persons, after they had once been baptized, could again obtain remission (of sin). Hippolytus Book 6, The refutation of all Heresies.

In Revelations, before the first resurrection occurs, Saint John sees a great multitude before the throne in Heaven, which no man could number. Then an elder explains who these were:
These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and have made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they, before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell with them. Rev 7:14-15
Could these be the people, of the redemption rejected by Hippolytus? Was the redemption, the second baptism of the sprinkling of blood with hyssop?

One of the Gospels of the heretics, as Hippolytus called them, is the Gospel of Phillip. The Lord did every thing in a mystery, a Baptism, a Chrism, a Eucharist, a Redemption and a Bridal chamber. If anyone becomes a Son of the Bridal Chamber, he will receive the light. If anyone does not receive it here, he will not be able to receive it in the other place. Gospel of Phillip

These heretics, as described by Hippolytus, also claimed to possess a secret knowledge or "Gnosis" given by Jesus, after the resurrection. They also had secret writings, where by they "perverted the scriptures", according to Hippolytus and others.

Was the Redemption the Sprinkle of Blood with hyssop? We may never know for sure. There is however a very interesting verse in Revelation.
Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals there of: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy Blood. Rev 5:9

The Roman Catholic Church, under the Emperor Constantine generally rejected the teachings of the Gnostic Christian groups, based on the heresy writings of Hippolytus, and others. The early Gnostics were declared heretics, hunted down, converted or executed, and their teachings burnt. The Gnostics and other Christian Groups were forced under ground, while being pursued by the Roman Catholic Church for over 1500 years.

Jesus in the Gospel of John had this to say: They shall put you out of your synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you, will think that he does God service. And these thing they will do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. John 16:2-3
But all these things shall they do unto you for my names sake, because they know not him that sent me. John 15:21

Sadly most of these Christian Gnostic teachings were lost to the editorial flames of the Early Catholic Church. Until the 20th century the only surviving accounts, of the practices of these early Christians, were the heresy writings of Hippolytus and Irenaeus.

This changed in 1945 with the discovery of the of the Nag Hammadi Library. This included 52 stories about Jesus Christ and the disciples. Many were written by the apostles themselves, according to texts.

The Nag Hammadi texts are 300 AD Coptic translations of earlier Hebrew and Greek Texts. There were found numerous previously unheard of Gospels. The oldest, is "The Gospel of Thomas", which based on earlier fragments is now dated at 40-60 AD. This oldest existing Gospel of Jesus Christ was a list of the sayings of the Lord Jesus.
Interestingly, the first Anti Pope, Hippolytus condemned "The Gospel of Thomas" by name, as the work of heretics.

The Crown of Glory and The Robes of Glory

There are several ancient references to a crown being given to those being baptized. This was largely done away with, through time. The only references are by the earliest Church Fathers.
Cyril of Jerusalem while discussing baptism states: He hath crowned me with a garland as a bridegroom, and decked me with ornaments as a bride
Other accounts have this crown, being made with olive branches, and still others pigeon Grass, and ivy. What was originally used is unknown.
The initiate would be crowned after the water Baptism, and the Holy Oil would have been poured over the crown representing the being Crowned in the Glory of God. Where this was done it would have been part of a second anointing or Chrismation.

This initiate being Baptized would then receive a white robe. All modern and ancient baptisms end, with receiving a white robe. This represents the robe of salvation, or the robe of light.
The King hath brought me into his chamber. Let my soul rejoice in the Lord: for he hath me with a garment of salvation, and a robe of gladness Cyril of Jerusalem on Baptism lecture 3

2nd Enoch describes how Enoch is anointed and then clothed in the Robes of Glory: And I looked at myself and I had become like one of the Glorious ones. 2nd Enoch 22:10

In this world those who put on garments are better than the garments. In the kingdom of heaven, the garments are better than those that put them on. Gospel of Phillip.

In the Pistis Sophia is given a description of three Vestures of Light or Robes of Light.
Come unto us, for we all stand near for to cloth thee with the first mystery and all of his Glory, in that the first mystery gave us two vestures to cloth thee, besides the one we have sent you. The first mystery hath sent for thee through the mystery of his Glory, two Vestures. Jesus Pistis Sophia

The Robes of Glory represented being spiritually clothed in the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost as a garment. Along with the Crown of Glory you then have the "Full Armor of God"

Spiritual Resurrection "Being Re-Born" Through Baptism?

Verily, verily I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3
What does Jesus mean that a man must be born again? Baptism was the act of putting off the old man of sin and being Born again. Many Early Church Fathers would give milk and honey for the newly baptized to represent the initiate being a new born creation thus being given milk and honey to nourish the new spirit in Jesus.
Jesus is clear that a proper baptism is a necessity to salvation.
Verily, verily, Except a man be born of water and of spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which is born of flesh is flesh; and that which is born of spirit is spirit. John 3:5-6

"Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God". 1st Corinthians 15

In Revelation there are two groups who are seen in Heaven before the first resurrection occurs. The first group are the Martyrs
And when he had opened the fifth seal , I saw under the alter the souls of them that were slain for the word of God. Rev 6: 9

The second group are seen around the throne of God, who have washed their robes in the blood of the lamb. These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Rev 7:14

Saint Clement of Rome was an actual disciple of Peter and Paul. Clement was concerned about keeping the baptism Holy. He understood the importance of the baptism.
How can we hope to enter into the royal residence of God unless we keep our Baptism Holy and undefiled? Clement of Rome, 2nd Clement, Chapter 6

Baptism for the Dead

The baptism for the dead was a proxy baptism, where by someone living could be baptized for a departed friend or relative who died without receiving Baptism. Some have argued that this was a heresy started by the Gnostics, but Saint Paul talks about it as well.
Else what shall they do, which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? Why are they then baptized for the dead? 1st Corinthians 15:29

This baptism has been completely removed from the church. The Catholics changed this to a Mass for the dead. Most protestant Churches do not practice this mystery at all.

The Fire Baptism

The only Christian practice of a Fire Baptism was by the early Gnostic Christians. The Gnostic Fire Baptism accounts that we have are a record of Jesus doing an incense offering.
However there are differences with-in even the various Gnostic groups as to what the Fire Baptism was. Certainly the lack of any early church record of an incense baptism leaves some doubts as to the validity of an incense Fire Baptism. Yet most Orthodox Baptisms today have some incense being burned, during the baptism.
In the Nag Hammadi texts, the "Gospel of Philip" contains some interesting verses as to the nature of the Holy Anointing Oil and perhaps the true meaning of the Fire Baptism.

The Anointing (chrism) The True Fire Baptism?

The Chrism or (anointing) is superior to baptism, for it is from the word chrism that we are called Christians. It is from the olive tree that we got the chrism, and from the chrism, the resurrection. The Lord did every thing in a mystery, a baptism, and a chrism, and a Eucharist, and a redemption and a bridal chamber. There is water in water, but there is Fire in the Chrism. The Fire is the Chrism.
For the Father anointed the Son, and the Son anointed the Apostles, and the Apostles anointed us. He who has been anointed possesses everything. He possesses the Resurrection, the Light, the Cross, and the Holy Spirit. Gnostic Gospel of Philip

The Gospel of Phillip clearly gives the indication that the Fire was the anointing or chrism. We also see similar teachings from Saint Cyril of Jerusalem
For as the breathing of the saints, and the invocation of the name of God, like fiercest flame, scorch and drive out evil spirits, so also this exorcized oil receives such virtue by the invocation of God and by prayer, as not only to burn and cleanse away the traces of sins, but also to chase away all the invisible powers of the evil one. Cyril of Jerusalem Lecture 20

In the Bible, we find other statements of the power of the anointing.
But ye have a unction (Anointing) from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 1 John 2:20

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you and ye need not that any man teach you; but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things. 1 John 2:27

Saint Tertullian of Carthage (160 - 225 AD) writes that after water baptism, " we are thoroughly anointed with a blessed unction, (a practice derived), from the old discipline, wherein on entering the priesthood, then were wont to be anointed with oil from a horn, ever since Aaron was anointed by Moses. Whence Aaron is called "Christ". Tertullian of Carthage "On Baptism".

The Holy Anointing Oil

In the Bible, we find numerous references to the Anointing and Anointing Oil. It is sometimes also referred to as "Unction" and "Ointment". Interestingly, the term "Chrism" or "Chrismation", which is a common term for anointing, does not occur in the Bible, yet it is mentioned in many Gnostic texts, and it is practiced by all Orthodox Churches, including the Catholics, the Greeks, the Coptics, and the Russian Orthodox as a part of Baptism.

The Holy Anointing Oil is fully described in Exodus 30:22-33
Take thou also unto thee three principal spices, of liquid Myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet Cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet Calamus two hundred and fifty shekels, and of Cassia five hundred shekels after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin. And thou shalt make it an oil of Holy ointment compound after the art of apothecary: it shall be a Holy anointing oil. Exodus 30:22-25

The Hin of Oil is approximately a Gallon of Olive oil. The art of apothecary is the art of the perfumer, who would boil the spices into the oil.

Pure Myrrh is the gum which comes out of the Balsam Plant. It was known as the "pain killer tree" by the ancient nomads. Balsam was used by traditional healers for a very long time, and was mentioned in several ancient texts for its healing abilities. Depending on the bible which is used, the translation is sometimes Liquid Myrrh, which is the milk from the Balsam plant.

Cinnamon is also an ancient herbal medicine. Cinnamon is mentioned in several ancient pharmacopoeias, and was certainly used by traditional healers.

Cassia is also a type of Cinnamon commonly known as Chinese cinnamon. It also has medicinal properties. The pure oil of cassia is poisonous, however along with the other ingredients, in the proportions as described in the Holy Oil, it would not be harmful. Based on the Hebrew used within the Holy Oil, it was mostly likely that the rolled bark of the plant was used.

Sweet Calamus in some Bibles is also translated as Fragrant Cane. Calamus was banned by the FDA in 1968 for use as medicine and in food additives.

Calamus contains upwards of 75% Asarone. Asarone is a poison which has been shown to cause cancer, and affect heart, kidney and liver functions.

Why would God specify a poison to be used in the Holy anointing oil?

Could it be that some churches today are anointing the heads of babies with poison? Did God mandate that the Holy Anointing Oil contain a poison?

Cannabis in the Holy Oil?

The original Hebrew for calamus, is Kaneh-bosem or Qaneh (Kaw-naw) Bosem. Some translations have this as "fragrant cane" or "aromatic cane." Some researchers have argued that this is actually Sweet Cane or Sugar Cane, although the term sweet does not occur in the original manuscripts.
In the Hebrew terms such as Elohim (Pronounced El- Oh- Heem ) is rendered plural. So in the Hebrew Kaneh-bosem is also plural. The singular then is rendered Kaneh-bos or Kanabos.
Kaneh-Bos sounds remarkably close to the modern day word Cannabis.

Could it be that cannabis was the plant given by God to be used in the Holy Anointing Oil?

Cannabis has certainly been cultivated since the beginning of recorded history. Its uses for rope, sails and rigging into ancient times are well documented.
Imagine the amount of cannabis rope it would have taken to construct the Temple of Solomon. What other way was there to construct ropes at that time, which could lift the weights of not only the Temple of Solomon, but in fact, the Pyramids themselves.

Cannabis was thought to be an Indo-European word specifically of Scythian Origin. The Scythians were largely responsible for the spread of cannabis into Europe. The Scythe, was an invention of the Scythians, used for the harvest of cannabis. This has come to us in the legends of the "Grim Reaper"

Herodotus, an early Greek ethnographer, in the 5th Century BC wrote of the Scythians and their use of cannabis.
The Scythians as they were known by the Greeks, were known, by the Semites as the Ashkenaz. Among the earliest references to Ashkenaz people is found in Genesis 10:3 where Ashkenaz was listed as the son of Gomer, the great Grandson of Noah. The Sythians lived around and traded with the Semites at least as early as 600 BC.

Zoroaster the prophet of the Ancient Magi, whose kings followed the Star of Bethlehem based on the ancient prophesies, used a drink called Haoma which has been documented to contain cannabis.
As early as 1925 experts have argued that, both the Assyrians and the Babylonians, used Cannabis in their temple incense, Circa 500 BC.

In 1993, the Albany New York Times Union reported, that the first physical evidence that Marijuana was used as a medicine in the ancient Mideast, was found. The Israeli scientists found residue of marijuana along with the skeleton of a girl who had died 1600 years before.

In this press release, researchers from the Hebrew University, stated that references to marijuana as a medicine are seen as far back as 1,600 BC in Egyptian, Assyrian, Greek, and Roman Writings.

If you actually buy the Calamus translation for the Holy Oil, then you assume that God specified in Exodus 30:23 a drug commonly known as Ecstasy. Calamus contains an ingredient called aserone. This is a hallucinogen which is metabolized in the liver as trimethoxyamphetamine or ecstasy. The Middle Eastern version of this plant is far more toxic than it's North American Cousin. This is deadly to flies and other insects. The Exodus 30:23 reference refers to sweet Calamus. If you look at this in the Strong’s concordance where they spell this as qaneh rather than kaneh, they pronounce this as Kaw-Naw, a reed, calamus, and cane are listed as possible translations. The term sweet used in Exodus 30:23 in Hebrew is Bosem. According to the Webster's New World Hebrew Dictionary, Bosem is perfume; scent. The Concordance: the Hebrew is Bosem #1314, fragrance, by impl. spicery; also the balsam plant:----smell, spice, sweet (odour). In some Bibles sweet calamus is translated as aromatic or fragrant Cane. It is where the bosem is fused to the word kaneh or qaneh that the cannabis translation becomes apparent. So then to pronounce this we have kaw-naw-bosem, and is spelled in English qaneh-bosem or kaneh-bosem.

In 1936, Sara Benetowa, later Known as Sula Benet, an etymologist from the Institute of Anthropological Sciences, in Warsaw wrote a treatise, "Tracing One Word Through Different Languages." This was a study on the word Cannabis, based on a study of the oldest Hebrew texts. Although the word cannabis was thought to be of Scythian origin, Benet's research showed it had an earlier root in the Semitic Languages such as Hebrew. Benet demonstrated that the ancient Hebrew word for Cannabis is Kaneh -Bosem. She also did another study called Early Diffusion and Folk Uses of Hemp. There is a reprint of this in Cannabis and Culture ISBN:90-279-7669-4. On page 44, she states, "The sacred character of hemp in biblical times is evident from Exodus 30:23, where Moses was instructed by God to anoint the meeting tent and all of its furnishings with specially prepared oil, containing hemp." On page 41 Sula Benet writes, : In the course of time, the two words kaneh and bosem were fused into one , kanabos or kannabus know to us from the Mishna. According to the Webster's New World Hebrew Dictionary, page 607 the Hebrew for hemp is kanabos.
Sara Benetowa  discovered that the Kaneh-Bosm or Cannabis is mentioned 5 times in the Old Testament.   The first occurrence appears in the Holy Anointing Oil as Calamus, (Exodus 30:23).  Sara  argued that the translation of Calamus  was a mistranslation  which occurred in the oldest Bible the “Septuagint” and the mistranslation was copied in later versions.

You may argue that the Anointing with the cannabis based oil has no redeeming value. I would like to point out that all Orthodox Churches practice the Chrism anointing. What started me into The Fire Baptism and the Lost Sacraments is that not one Church uses the Holy Anointing Oil as described in Exodus 30:23 even with the Calamus translation.

Yet what is the effect to the baptism? The Bible is very clear that this was the only oil to be used.
This shall be a "holy anointing oil" unto me through out your generations. Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people. Exodus 30:31-33

Christ in the Greek, and the Messiah in Hebrew, means "the anointed " For Jesus to receive the title "Christ", he must have been anointed with the Holy Anointing Oil or Nazer Oil, as given to Moses in Exodus 30:23.
The only scriptural reference to Jesus being anointed is in Bethany. But this is a record of Jesus being anointed with a Spikenard Oil. This would not convey the title Christ. The title "Christ" was only given by someone who is anointed with the Holy Anointing Oil or Nazer Oil, as described in Exodus 30:23.
Some early Gnostic Christians teachings held that Jesus was not made Christ with an earthly oil, but in fact anointed by God in heaven.
For the Father anointed the Son, and the Son anointed the Apostles, and the Apostles anointed us. Gospel of Phillip

If Jesus was called "Christ" by receiving the Holy Anointing Oil, how are we to be called Christians? One would assume that we must also be anointed with the same, Holy Anointing Oil, or Nazer Oil, as described in Exodus 30:23.

The Chrism or (anointing) is superior to baptism, for it is from the word chrism that we are called Christians. Gospel of Phillip.
"Are you unwilling to be anointed with the Oil of God? Wherefore we are called Christians on this account, because we are anointed with the oil of God." Theophilus of Antioch (181AD)

Is It Christ or is it Anti-Christ

But as "Christ" means "the anointed" What does "Anti-Christ" mean? "Anti" in Greek means "Opposed to" or "Instead of". The Anti-Christ would then mean "Opposed to the anointed" or "Instead of the anointed".
For false Christs or (false anointed ones) and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect. Matthew 24:24

Today the Roman Catholic Churches, use Pure Olive Oil, sprinkled with powered Balsam, and blessed by a Bishop at lent. Here we find the "instead of anointing".
The Coptic Orthodox use a Myron oil which consists of over 30 spices. The Myron Oil is based on a tradition that Saint Mark took with him the spices used at Jesus burial to Alexandria. Whether or not this is true is unknown, but here again we have the "Instead of Oil"
There are other Churches that boil down various other configurations of the Holy Oil. Some include wine, salt, and other ingredients, boiled with oil, as the "instead of Holy Oil".
Most protestant Churches offer no anointing at all. Here we find the "Opposed to anointing".
It appears, that in the Christian World, so preoccupied with calling themselves, Christians or "The Anointed Ones", we have no place for the "Holy Anointing Oil of God", as described in the Exodus 30:23
Could it be that the Churches have been deceived, regarding the anointing? If this is so, surely this would have been prophesied.
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and Doctrines of devils.
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot Iron; forbidding to marry, and commanding them to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them that know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving. 1 Timothy 4:1-4

Regarding the "abstaining of Meats" created by God we must look to Genesis 1:29
And God said, Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be as "meat". Genesis 1:29

Certainly the "Forbidding to marry" is easy to understand since the Holy Oil requires meat of Cannabis or Marijuana to produce. Christians that believe that the "Holy Anointing Oil" must be used in Baptism, are therefore forbidden enter the Bridal Chamber of Jesus Christ or even to obtain spiritual resurrection. Babies are baptized, once in a lifetime, are not permitted Re-Baptism as Adults. Thus we are "Forbidden to Marry unto Jesus Christ"

If anyone becomes a Son of the Bridal Chamber, he will receive the light. If anyone does not receive it here, he will not be able to receive it in the other place. Gospel of Phillip

Sadly a simple look at Christian Churches globally, we find that NONE offer the anointing with the Holy Anointing Oil of God, as described in Exodus 30:23. The Holy Anointing Oil, in the Old Testament, was only used for the anointing of Priests, Kings, and certain Prophets. The ancient priests were anointed with the holy anointing oil, which Moses called Nazer Oil (See Eusebius). These priests were then known as Nazarenes.

The earliest followers of Jesus were known as Nazarenes and maintained the Church in Jerusalem, under James the Just, the brother of Jesus.

When Titus sacked Jerusalem in 70 AD this group relocated to the Town of Pella in Jordan. The Nazarenes were made up of Jewish followers of John the Baptist and Jesus, who were concentrated in Palestine and practiced Christianity as Jews and kept the Sabbath on Saturday.
The state religion at the time of Emperor Constantine was Mithraism. The Mithra Religion supposedly originated in Persia and existed at least 600 years B.C. but many consider it to be much older. Mithraism was the practice of worship of the sun. They also practiced baptism and anointing with oil. The baptisms were done with water and with Bulls Blood.

Mithra is depicted as the slayer of the Bull. Mithra was born on December 25th. He was born of a virgin. He had twelve companions. Sunday was considered a sacred day of rest. Under the Emperor Constantine the Sabbath was changed from Saturday to Sunday, or the Pagan " Venerable Day of the Sun".

In Canon 29, of the Council of Laodicea in 364 AD, the Roman Church declared that resting on the Sabbath was Judaizing and that any Christian practicing resting on the Sabbath would be anathema (offered unto God), which later became excommunicated.
The poor Nazarenes and Jewish Christians who continued to observe the 7th day Sabbath were declared heretics. Practicing Christianity in a Jewish way was considered a heresy by the Early Roman Church

Taking the name Nazarene is very significant as it indicates that this person has been anointed with the Holy Anointing Oil of God, as described in the Old Testament.

The anointing with Gods Holy Oil is the most important of all the sacraments. Without this anointing, many believe they cannot receive spiritual resurrection, or are they rightfully called Christians.
Most of the Protestant reformers considered the office of Pope to be the seat of Anti-Christ, and the Catholic anointing to be the Mark of the Beast. The anointing was thought to be a pagan rite and had no scriptural basis in the new testament.

The reformers such as Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Wesley, William Tyndale and many others, all saw the Roman Catholic Church to be the Mystery Babylon, Drunk with the Blood of the Saints. Many of these reformers were themselves executed or burnt at the stake as heretics.
William Tyndale was burnt at the stake for translating the Bible into English. Reading the Bible was considered a heresy. Christians were forbidden for centuries, to possess the scriptures in any language. Reading the Bible was considered to be proof that persons were heretics.

John Dowling in 1853 wrote:
From the birth of the Popery, to the present time, it is estimated by careful and credible historians that more than FIFTY MILLIONS of the human family have been slaughtered for the crime of heresy by popish persecutors, an average of more than 40,000 religious murders for every year of the existence of the popery.

The Catholic Church denies that 50 million persecutions occurred. Most Catholic apologists do however admit that it was a dark time in the church.
For over 1500 years the Roman Catholics hunted down Gnostic Christians and others. The Roman Catholics considered it their duty and right to interrogate and execute heretics, under papal authority. Even the Knights Templars were exterminated as heretics during the inquisition.

Pope Innocent VIII, in 1484 issued a Papal Bull condemning an alleged outbreak of Witchcraft in Germany, and deputized two Friars as inquisitors to end the outbreak. These Friars wrote the notorious "Witches Hammer" or Malleus Maleficarum as a guide to inquisitors to identify, torture and destroy witches, and became one of the bloodiest documents in history. Certain herbs were established during the inquisition in connection with the practice of witchcraft including cannabis. Possession of these herbs was proof that this person was a witch.

The Church denied the very word of God which granted all herbs bearing seed as meat in Genesis 1:29, while it shamelessly tortured and murdered midwives, herbalists, and others, burning them at the stake as witches. Yet most were not witches at all, but people that perhaps believed differently.
These so called witch hunts were financed by the confiscation of lands and properties of the accused. In some cases the dead were declared heretics and excommunicated to confiscate the properties of those persons children.

But the commercial use of cannabis continued through out this period. The Spanish carried hemp or cannabis seed throughout the New World. This was necessary in the event that a ship was wrecked that new sail and rigging could be made.

The Catholic Church today still denies that Cannabis is a herb of God as given in Genesis 1-29. The Catholic Church today rejects Drug Legalization and sees no difference between Cannabis and Hard Drugs. In 2001 Catholic Church called on World Governments to reject Drug Legalization.
Since Cannabis is the only drug being considered for legalization it should be more correctly be described as a call on World Governments to Reject the Legalization of Cannabis, and of course the Holy Anointing Oil of God.

Interestingly the Protestant Reformers, eliminated the practice of anointing and the Chrismation from baptism. They saw no Biblical basis for anointing in the New Testament. For most of the Protestant Reformers all that was needed for grace was faith and water baptism.
Grace by the Mysteries of Anointing, Redemption, Chrismation, and Bridal Chamber, which were never included in the Bible, were done away with by these reformers.

The Persecution Continues

The United States claims to have Freedom of Religion, yet it is illegal to make the Holy Anointing Oil of God. Possession, of the 6-9 pounds of marijuana that it would take to make the Holy Anointing Oil, is punishable by up to 30 years in prison, in some states. Cultivation of even 1 plant is a felony in most states, as well at the Federal Level.

George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both grew cannabis. Under current Federal Law, both of these Presidents would be liable to the death penalty.

The American Indians are permitted to use Peyote as a sacrament but Christians are denied the right to make the Holy Anointing Oil of God.

So for those Christians, that believe in the Holy Anointing Oil , spiritual resurrection is not possible, without severe consequences. Persecution of Christianity in the United States is alive and well, unless you accept the "Mark of the Beast".

Many religions exist that believe marijuana or cannabis is a sacrament even the Tree of Life. Rastifarians, certain Ethiopian Coptics, various independent Christian and Gnostic Christians, as well as certain Muslim, Hindu, and Zoroastrian Sects, are routinely arrested and denied the right to use cannabis as a sacrament.

Interestingly, the oppression of Cannabis is largely due to the lobbying efforts of the Churches. Most of these Churches, offer no anointing at all, and literally have no right to call themselves, Christians or "anointed ones"
.
Most of the Protestant churches only offer a "Water Baptism". The Protestant churches that do give a symbolic anointing use pure Olive Oil, as the "instead of anointing".

It is illegal worldwide to make the Holy Anointing Oil of God or receive the anointing. The now one world anti-Christ Government forbids us to obtain the anointingReligious Cannabis users are routinely forbidden to use religion as a legal defense. Churches are tried as conspirators, having their homes and churches confiscated. Children are taken away, and these people are thrown into prison for exceedingly long sentences under the criminal conspiracy laws. The Canadian "Church of the Universe" is among the churches that believe that cannabis is a sacrament. At the time of filming this documentary, they are suing the Canadian Government, to permit cannabis for Religious use and as a Church Sacrament in Canada.

Hopefully one day, this Church and others will be permitted to make the Holy Oil of God, and offer the Fire Baptism to those who desire it. Check for updates under the World Wide Web search term, "Church Mandate".

Medical Marijuana

Along with anointing, Jesus also uses the Holy Oil for healing. Imagine the power of the " Holy Anointing Oil of God" given to a sick person, by a Priest or man of faith, through the Holy Spirit, with invocations to God and Jesus.
What power could withstand it. Certainly the Holy Anointing Oil would have been a powerful curing tool. We find and interesting insight with-in the Acts of Thomas:
Thou holy oil given unto us for sanctification, secret mystery whereby the cross was shown unto us, thou art the straightener of crooked limbs. "Acts of Thomas"

Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. James 5:14-16

"And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them." (Mark 6:13)

In the "Acts of Peter and the Twelve Apostles," Jesus gives the disciples an "unguent box" and a "pouch full of medicine" and instructs them to go into the city and heal the sick. Jesus instructs them that they must heal "the bodies first" before they can "heal the heart.").

On November 5th, 1996 the voters of the State of California, passed the Compassionate use act. This act allowed for the distribution of Marijuana to the sick. Since that time several clinics have been opened to supply cannabis. These Clinics were under permit with the local and State authorities. The police were notified, and all permits were obtained, under the new State law.

Yet the Federal Government has arrested most of these clinics charging them under the conspiracy laws and have charged their organizers up to 30 years each under the conspiracy. In the trial phases these people were not even permitted to submit evidence that they were growing cannabis for a clinic to be distributed to the sick, or even mention that they were being charged as attempting to distribute cannabis under the new State Law.

What would Jesus have done? Jesus used this very oil for healing, yet it is illegal today to possess or manufacture the Oil.

Is it Christ or is it Anti-Christ?

(Note: This was written in 2006 as a partial script for the film, "The Fire Baptism and the Lost Sacraments". The comments in this have not been updated as it is a historical critique of the time when it was written. Much has changed in the area of medical marijuana since that time. Yet to this day, people wanting to use marijuana in religion are routinely denied to make a religious defense before a jury in the United States. Also to my knowledge, the Holy Anointing Oil of God is still illegal to manufacture world wide. The prophesies on the Seal of God, the Anointing of the 144,000, Revelation 7, and others have yet to play themselves out. It will be interesting to watch how this unfolds!!!)

Isn't it time to return the Holy Anointing Oil of God?
